Chainlink Labs — Oracle Infrastructure
Detail
Chainlink Smart Value Recapture (SVR) launched on Aave v3 Ethereum mainnet in March 2025 after a 100% in-favor Aave DAO vote. SVR enables DeFi protocols to recapture Oracle Extractable Value (OEV) — the MEV that leaks when liquidations are triggered by oracle updates. Chainlink SVR uses a dual price feed mechanism via Flashbots MEV-Share: a private channel allows searchers to bid for bundled liquidation execution, recapturing value that previously went entirely to MEV bots. Within weeks of launch SVR had recaptured over $1.1M in non-toxic liquidation MEV across $32M in liquidations, with an average recapture rate over 80% and a peak rate over 90%. Revenue splits 65% to Aave, 35% to Chainlink. SVR coverage reached approximately 75% of Aave's total Ethereum TVL.
Why it matters
SVR is proof that Chainlink is not just data infrastructure — it is an economic protocol. SVR creates a new revenue stream for both DeFi protocols and the Chainlink Network simultaneously. The Aave DAO voted 100% in favor. $1.1M+ recaptured and counting. This is Chainlink's oracle infrastructure actively generating measurable economic value for its ecosystem partners.
