Detail
Chainlink and Circle announced a formal partnership on May 30, 2024 to expand stablecoin utility for enterprise institutions. The partnership integrates Chainlink services — CCIP, Data Feeds, and Proof of Reserve — with Circle developer platform including Programmable Wallets and Smart Contract Platform. By the time of announcement, Chainlink price oracles had already enabled over $1.3 trillion in USDC transaction value across six blockchains. Sandra Persing, VP at Circle, stated: "Chainlink integration of Circle stablecoin developer technology will empower innovators building Internet-native financial services." Chainlink Labs confirmed Chainlink services are critical throughout the entire tokenized asset lifecycle.
Why it matters
Chainlink price oracles enabled $1.3 trillion in USDC transaction value before the formal partnership was even announced. The partnership formalises CCIP, Data Feeds, and Proof of Reserve as the infrastructure layer for USDC and EURC across the full tokenised asset lifecycle.
